WHY SEA TURTLES ARE SO IMPORTANT AND WHY WE NEED TO SAVE THEM
Not only are Sea Turtles beautiful and majestic animals but they are essential to their ecosystem. As the ‘lawnmowers’ of the aquatic world, Sea Turtles maintain sea grass beds, a prime breeding location for many species of fish and other marine life. Due to the high amount of trash and pollution in our waters, this animal is on its way to becoming extinct. Sea turtles often become entangled in nets during fishing seasons or they consume plastic waste, mistaking it for food. It is necessary that we save them, not only for the preservation of their own species, but all the other organisms that rely on them.

WHY I CHOSE TO CREATE A HIGHLIGHTER PALETTE TO HONOR THE SEA TURTLE
I chose to create our highlighter palette for a few reasons! Since we were planning to launch in the summer, I believed a highlighter palette would work perfectly because it can provide that gorgeous “glow from within” look everyone is striving for. It was also a no brainer because highlighters were the perfect fit for the beachy and tropical vibe we needed in our collection. This palette is my newest baby and I’m so excited to expand our product range and share this beautiful collection with you!
ASIDE FROM HELPING SEA TURTLES, HERE’S MORE ABOUT THE PRODUCT
Like all of our products, our highlighter palette is entirely vegan, cruelty-free, and child labor free. Our newest addition is also Leaping Bunny Certified! Besides the formulas themselves, our palette packaging is paper board-based, eco-friendly and recyclable. As a founder, the ethical and ecological footprint of our products remains at the forefront of my mind during the development process. Shared Planet is a brand that is committed to being conscious while not compromising on the quality.
HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW TO HELP SEA TURTLES
There are so many simple ways we can help the Sea Turtle population! One major way is reducing our plastic waste. Whether that’s purchasing more zero waste products or taking reusable bags to the grocery store. You can learn more about preventing plastic pollution here. It’s incredibly important we don’t let all of this trash end up in our oceans. Even when I go to the beach, I make it my mission to pick up at least 10 pieces of trash that I find on the shore. Another way is by supporting responsible fisheries whose practices don’t interfere with other marine life and therefore don’t affect the Sea Turtles.
A SNEAK PEEK INTO FUTUTE PRODUCT LAUNCHES
While I don’t want to give up any of our upcoming surprises…we do have another set of new products coming. They will be our first liquid formulations and I can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on this new and truly unexpected collection!
